Rules of Membership

1. PHOENIX GROUP OF PHOTOGRAPHERS (PHOENIX) is the title of this photographic society.

2. It's objectives are to advance proficiency in the science and art of photography in as many forms as is practicable and to encourage helpful friendship amongst members.

3. Management: The Executive shall consist of a Chairman, Vice Chairman, Secretary, Treasurer, Programme Secretary, Exhibition Secretary, Liaison Officer and a Committee Member. In addition, a President, a non-voting member, may be appointed for one year by the new Executive after they have been duly voted into their positions on the Executive at the A.G.M.

4. The Executive members are eligible for re-election annually.

5. In the event of any vacancy occurring in the Executive, an appointment can be made by the remaining members.

6. The Secretary shall manage the affairs of PHOENIX subject to the direction of the Executive and shall minute all proceedings.

7. All financial matters shall be in the hands of the Treasurer, who shall present at the A.G.M. an audited statement of the affairs of PHOENIX.

8. The A.G.M. shall be held in the month of April when 20% of paid up members shall be considered a quorum. Officers for the ensuing year shall be elected.

9. The ordinary business of PHOENIX shall be transacted by the Executive with power to co-opt.

10. Normal debating procedures will apply to all meetings; the Chairman's decision on conduct to be final, he also having a casting vote.

11. Rules may be revised or amended at the A.G.M. or at an extraordinary meeting called for that purpose.

12. Membership shall be limited to actively participating persons, who are paid up members or country members, i.e., those living on or beyond a 60 mile radius of PHOENIX Headquarters.

13. A member may be requested to forfeit membership by the Executive following proven complaint, breach of regulations, or actions detrimental to the interest of PHOENIX.

14. Subscriptions to be recommendation by the Executive for the ensuring year and payable by 30th September each year; this to be approved at the Annual General Meeting.

15. In the event of dissolution of PHOENIX, remaining assets shall be handed to a charity chosen by the surviving members.
